Nowadays, artificial intelligence is becoming more and more popular. In our smartphones, computers, ads, and chats, it's already taken over. Within a few years, it seems to be everywhere, taking on a lot of jobs for itself. Here are a few basics you need to know about AI.

AI systems can mimic or replicate intelligent human behaviors, such as learning, problem-solving, and decision-making. Various approaches to building them can lead to a wide range of behaviors, from simple to complex. A few examples of AI are voice-activated assistants, like Apple Siri and Amazon Alexa, and self-driving cars, which are guided by sensors and machine learning algorithms. AI has the potential to revolutionize a number of industries, including health care, finance, and transportation.

People can use the term “AI” talking about simple algorithms.  An algorithm is simply a set of instructions that a computer follows to accomplish a task. Algorithms can be used for data sorting, information searching, and prediction. Basically, it's like saying that CPUs and PCs are the same thing.

Since AI & Machine Learning are often used together, I would like to say a few words about Machine Learning. Machine learning involves training algorithms on datasets in order to make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed. Based on large amounts of data, machine learning algorithms find patterns and make predictions. As the algorithm receives more data, it will become more accurate and intelligent.

There are several types of machine learning, including supervised learning, in which the algorithm is trained on labeled data, and unsupervised learning, in which the algorithm must discover patterns on its own. Machine learning also includes semi-supervised learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning.

I'd like to share with you the most fascinating technologies that use AIML in this article. Voice assistants are the easiest and most popular to use:

  1. Google Assistant: a virtual assistant that uses artificial intelligence to perform tasks and answer questions.

  2. Amazon Echo: a voice-controlled smart speaker that uses artificial intelligence to perform tasks such as setting alarms, playing music, and answering questions.

  3. Apple Siri: a virtual personal assistant that uses AI to perform tasks and answer questions.

  4. Microsoft Cortana: a virtual personal assistant that uses AI to perform tasks and answer questions.

Each of these assistants has the same goal, but can provide different integration options and functions. Their differences include: In contrast to Google Assistant, which is available on smartphones, tablets, and smart home devices, Amazon Echo is a standalone device activated by the wake word "Alexa." Apple's Siri is available on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, and Cortana is available on Microsoft's Windows computers and Xbox consoles.

Google Assistant integrates closely with other Google services, including Google Search and Google Maps, while Amazon Echo integrates with a range of other services by adding "skills," which are essentially apps. Apple Music and the App Store are integrated with Siri, and Outlook and Bing are integrated with Cortana.

While Google Assistant is known for its strong voice recognition capabilities, Amazon Echo may have trouble understanding certain accents or speaking styles. Both Siri and Cortana have good voice recognition capabilities, although Siri is generally considered to be more accurate and responsive.

All of these assistants are capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including setting alarms, playing music, and answering questions. In some areas, such as language translation and search, Google Assistant may have more advanced capabilities. Amazon Echo has a wide range of "skills" that let it perform a variety of tasks, whereas Siri and Cortana are more tightly integrated with their respective platforms and have access to more features.

Other types of technologies include:

  1. Netflix Recommendations uses artificial intelligence to recommend TV shows and movies to users based on their viewing history. The recommendation system considers a variety of factors, such as the genres of movies and TV shows a user has watched, their ratings of those shows and movies, and their overall viewing history. Data about users' viewing habits helps the system learn and improve constantly.

  2. Tesla Autopilot: a semi-autonomous driving system that uses artificial intelligence to assist drivers. The system was introduced in 2015, and it makes driving easier, but it also requires a person to be in the car since it isn't perfect. A multitude of cameras and sensors are located all over the car body to make it work.

  3. Sophia the Robot uses artificial intelligence to interact with humans and answer questions. Known for its appearances on television, at conferences, and in interviews, Sophia is one of the most advanced and expressive humanoid robots in the world. There is no limit to what it can understand and respond to, and it is even capable of making jokes and expressing emotions. She has participated in interviews, panel discussions, and events and festivals to promote technology and AI. In addition, it has been used for research and development projects related to robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-robot interaction.

  4. For the first time, DeepMind AlphaGo beats a professional human player of Go using artificial intelligence. It defeated a professional human player at the board game Go, which is considered more complex than chess. AlphaGo uses machine learning and Monte Carlo tree search algorithms to make its decisions. As a result of AlphaGo's success, other AI programs have been developed that can play and excel at complex games like chess and poker.

  5. Self-driving car is one which uses artificial intelligence to navigate roads and make driving decisions without human input. It involves delivery services that can bring goods to customers and special robots that can bring dogs for walks. Teslas differ from self-driving cars in that people aren't really involved in the operation, except for monitoring. Additionally, they are used to monitor current conditions in Google Maps pictures to make their Assistant even more helpful.

  6. Facial recognition system uses artificial intelligence to identify people in images and videos. There are plenty of points on how you can use this technology. Police already use it to find people who are wanted by the law. Additionally, it may be used to analyze the behavior of people visiting a retail market. To ensure no privacy issues arise, almost everyone has an element of facial recognition in their mobile devices as well. These systems currently may be used in order to educate other AI systems.

Over time, many of these technologies are open-sourced, which gives us the option to develop similar technologies or incorporate already existing solutions into user applications. Incorporating technologies like GPT 3 - GPT 4 into your application can help you to attract investments and make something new that will benefit people. As of now, it's clear that these technologies will continue to develop and impact people's lives in a positive way.
